Holiday Gifts for KidsChristmas Drives for Area Children

Each year there are several different programs focused on providing Christmas gifts for children within the Paul Bunyan Telephone service area. It is the goal of these programs to ensure no child goes without a gift and you can help! See below for more information on the gift program in your area.

Bemidji Area - Holiday Gifts for Kids Program

Paul Bunyan Telephone, the stations of R.P. Broadcasting, and the Bemidji Area United Way have announced the 2008 Holiday Gifts for Kids Program is underway.

To donate:
Help out those less fortunate right here in northern Minnesota! You can contribute by donating cash, writing a check or dropping off new toys at one of the participating locations around Bemidji.

  • Mail/Drop Off Check to the United Way or RP Broadcasting
    Make check payable to: Holiday Gifts for Kids
  • Toy Drop Off Locations: Wal-Mart, Paul Bunyan Mall, L & M Fleet, Gander Mountain, Picture This, Pamida, Domino’s Pizza and First National Bank
  • RP Broadcasting Live Toy Drive: Dec. 5th – 7th in the parking lot at Marketplace. RP Broadcasting staff will be there collecting cash & toy donations.

To receive a gift:
The program is intended for parents or guardians who are financially unable to provide a gift for their child at Christmas. This program is available to children living within the boundaries of ISD #31 and pre-registration is required. Registration forms are available online at www.liveunitedbemidji.org or www.kkbj.com. Registration forms are also available at Bi-County CAP, First National Bank (all locations), the United Way of Bemidji, and Community Resource Connections. All children must be registered by December 5. Distribution of gifts will take place on Tuesday, December 16 from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. at the National Guard Armory in Bemidji.

Wanda Anderson and Mary Joy are leading the charge for this year’s campaign. To donate or if you are aware of Blackduck area children that could use help at Christmas time, please contact them after 6 p.m. Call Wanda at 835-4671 or Mary at 835-6639.

United WayUnited Way of Bemidji Victory Dinner is this Tuesday, November 18

Paul Bunyan Telephone is a proud supporter of the United Way and we invite you to the United Way of Bemidji Area’s Victory Dinner coming up Tuesday, November 18 at the Hampton Inn & Suites. The Superhero Social, with cash bar, is at 5:30 followed by the Superhero Buffet at 6 with program/awards to follow starting at 7. Help recognize those who go above and beyond in contributing to the success of the 2008 United Way Campaign and attend this year’s Victory Dinner. 19th Annual Radiothon to End Child Abuse20th Annual Radiothon To End Child Abuse is set for December 4-5

The 20th Annual Radiothon to End Child Abuse will be held from Noon, Thursday, December 4 through Noon on Friday, December 5th. This 24 hour event will be broadcast live on the stations of Paul Bunyan Broadcasting, including KB101, KZY-95.5, Z99, and WQXJ 104.5. Listeners not only learn about child abuse and neglect, they also act! By making a pledge or bidding on a valuable Radiothon auction item, you can take meaningful action to help end child abuse and neglect. The annual Paul Bunyan Telephone Holiday Open House is coming up Thursday, December 11th from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at our offices in Bemidji, Grand Rapids, and Deer River and at Blackduck Telephone, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Paul Bunyan Telephone.
